Relations with
stakeholders

We’re passionate about enhancing local partnerships, leveraging our products, equipment, expertise, and knowledge to support initiatives aligned with our core values—be it in public health, education, environmental efforts, or local infrastructure projects. Our quarries actively contribute to the economic and social progress of nearby communities through their ongoing operations.

Our commitment extends to fostering robust, two-way communication with all our stakeholders. This involves personalized interactions such as engaging with suppliers and formal procedures like meetings with government bodies and local communities. To ensure this dialogue remains fruitful, we’ve adopted a structured approach. This approach enables us to listen intently to stakeholder input, learn from their valuable feedback, and consistently meet their expectations.

Contribution to
communities and
society

With a steadfast dedication to empowering Greek communities, we’ve forged enduring relationships as a trusted ally across various regions in Greece. Our enduring commitment shines brightly in our ongoing support for the Nisyros community. Through a comprehensive, long-term program, LAVA has been instrumental in bolstering the local economy and societal growth. Actively engaging in initiatives to uplift local infrastructure and enhance settlements, we contribute either through funding projects or providing essential Group resources.
Driven by a deep sense of responsibility and acknowledging the pivotal role of culture in social advancement, LAVA actively champions cultural and social endeavors. This encompasses a wide spectrum, from local events and cultural festivals to educational initiatives and healthcare programs. Through these efforts, LAVA takes an active role in fostering a more vibrant and prosperous society for all.
Environment
  • Strongly committed to supporting Greek society over time, we donated hundreds of oikiaLAVA bags to the residents of Mati and N. Voutza affected by the devastating wildfires in order to contribute to the rapid restoration of green areas. At the same time, LAVA employees, residents and volunteers planted trees at selected points in Mati.
Environment
  • Demonstrating a high sense of responsibility and social solidarity, we financed the procurement of a modern garbage truck with a capacity of 7 cubic meters and its and delivery to the Municipality of Nisyros. We thus reinforced the waste collection effort, further contributing to the cleanliness of the Municipality of Nisyros and optimization of local people’s quality of life.
  • We undertook the cost of scientific studies for the implementation of projects, such as the installation and operation of a biological treatment plant in Nisyros, and supported cultural events held on the remote island.
Training
  • With a sense of responsibility for youth and equal educational opportunities, we have donated new laptops to secondary education schools of Nisyros. Thanks to these new laptops, IT classrooms were immediately fully equipped and operational, enabling every student to have access to new technologies and the internet.
Training
  • We also offered 27 books of Greek literature to the library of Milos’ junior high school.
  • Firmly committed to the support of young people, we donated state-of-the-art computers to the students at the junior high school of Milos island. This donation, which is part of our long-standing contribution to the local community of Milos, showcases our sense of responsibility for youth and equal educational opportunities for every student, wherever they are in Greece.
  • We upgraded the equipment of the Kindergarten of Milos in the area of Triovasala.
Training
  • We support the excavation performed by the Department of History and Archaeology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in Mochlos, Sitia, reinforcing primary research and providing practical training to students in real field working conditions. This training is necessary for any young archaeologist and a valuable asset for their future professional career.
Society
  • We supported the Solidarity Centre in Nisyros, providing meals and care to island residents in need.
  • We assumed the cost of scientific studies for the implementation of projects, such as the installation and operation of a biological treatment plant in Nisyros.
  • We supported cultural events held in Nisyros.
Training
  • We also enriched the library of Milos’ junior high school with Greek literature books.
Culture
  • Assisting activities that help promote Greece’s cultural heritage, we supported the two-year research program “The Mycenaean Northeastern Kopais – MYNEKO” (2016-2017), through which it was evidenced that the Kopais and Orchomenos area was an ark of civilizations in prehistoric times. Research results are particularly encouraging, as they revealed new information on the Middle Helladic and early Mycenaean background of the settlements that grew on the northern end of the lake, about 3,500 years ago.
  • We supported the art festival hosted at the ancient theatre of Milos promoting art and culture.
Health
  • Following up on the long tradition of actions to support and strengthen the local community of Nisyros island, we have taken out a group insurance policy ensuring that all the island’s residents have access to Interamerican’s reliable healthcare services and infrastructure. This initiative covers emergency air transport due to sudden illness or accident by fully manned and equipped helicopter. Furthermore, the plan provides unlimited, 24/7 access to the “Health Line 1010” for all Nisyros residents to receive medical advice from the doctors of INTERAMERICAN.
